Making biodiesel with 7th graders

I had fun presenting about biodiesel to 7th graders at Hamilton Middle School in Seattle.  Kids really get the need to do something about global warming.  They love the peanut burning demo, which shows the potential of biofuels.  The kids worked in groups to make pop bottle batches of bio from a variety of waste oils.

Feece Oil Fuel said...

Very well said!

Today's kids definitely needs to know about the effects of global warming and the ways to prevent it. Throughout the world, governments are beginning to realize that in terms of pollution, health, and geo-political stability, petroleum will no longer be the fuel of choice. Therefore teaching them about biodiesel is like saving the future generation.

It's great to see that more and more kids get involved in biodiesel related projects and work.
